In the Ford 10R80 and GM 10L series, the clearance between the solenoid pintle and the valve body is measured in microns. Standard "Low Viscosity" (LV) fluids are significantly too thick for these units, leading to increased line pressure, erratic "flare shifts," and potential TCM (Transmission Control Module) logic conflicts. VersaTrans® ULV is specifically calibrated for the high-frequency pulse-width modulated (PWM) solenoids used in these 10-speed boxes.
