Phillips 66® Triton® 668 ATF is a premium, full-synthetic heavy-duty automatic transmission fluid specifically engineered for truck and bus transmissions operating under severe service conditions or extended drain intervals. This fluid is officially licensed by Allison Transmission to meet the rigorous TES 668® specification, making it the direct, fully-approved successor to TES 295® fluids (like Castrol TranSynd). It is formulated with 100% synthetic base stocks and an advanced additive package that provides superior shear stability, exceptional thermal resistance, and improved friction durability. Triton 668 ensures that heavy-haul vocational vehicles maintain "like-new" shift quality and maximum hardware protection throughout the fluid’s entire service life, even in the most demanding stop-and-go coastal environments.

PRODUCT RESOURCES
PERFORMANCE
Allison TES 668® Licensed: Engineered as the next-generation replacement for TES 295®, offering improved clutch friction durability and anti-shudder performance.
Thermal Endurance: Exceptional oxidation resistance prevents the fluid from "cooking" during high-load, high-heat hill climbs.
Frictional Stability: Maintains a consistent coefficient of friction over tens of thousands of miles to prevent shift-timing drift and gear hunting.
PROTECTION
Superior Shear Stability: Resists mechanical thinning under the massive torque of heavy-duty diesel engines, protecting planetary gear sets from wear.
Corrosion Shield: Advanced inhibitors protect yellow metals and silver-plated bearings from chemical attack and moisture-related rust.
Seal Integrity: Fully compatible with modern transmission elastomers, keeping gaskets pliable and preventing high-pressure fluid loss.
UPTIME
Extended Drain Capability: Supports Allison’s maximum allowable drain intervals, drastically reducing annual maintenance costs and vehicle downtime.
Warranty Protection: As an officially licensed TES 668® fluid, its use maintains the factory warranty on new Allison 1000 through 4000 series transmissions.
Solenoid Cleanliness: High-detergency formula prevents the varnish buildup that leads to stuck shift solenoids and expensive "limp mode" diagnostics.

FEATURES & BENEFITS
Official Allison Approval: Meets the stringent requirements of License No. 668-10182021.
Backward Compatible: Fully approved for use in any Allison transmission where a TES 295® fluid (like TranSynd) was previously specified.
Enhanced Shift Quality: Provides smoother shifting and quieter operation compared to older generation synthetic ATFs.
Excellent Cold Flow: Ensures immediate hydraulic response at startup, preventing "delayed engagement" in freezing temperatures.
Foam Control: Maintains a non-compressible fluid stream for precise valve body operation and efficient torque converter cooling.
APPLICATIONS
Allison 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 Series™ transmissions in all vocational applications.
Heavy-duty refuse trucks, transit buses, motor coaches, and emergency response vehicles.
Vocational trucks requiring an officially licensed Allison TES 668® or TES 295® fluid.
Any heavy-duty automatic transmission requiring a high-performance, extended-drain synthetic ATF.
Licenses & Approvals:
Allison TES 668® (Licensed)
Backward compatible for use where Allison TES 295® is specified.
Suitable for use where Allison TES 468® is required.
MAMMOTH TECHNICAL TIP:
Triton 668 is the direct equivalent to Castrol TranSynd, but it actually exceeds the older TES 295 spec in terms of "friction durability." In the Allison 3000 and 4000 series, the Transmission Control Module (TCM) constantly monitors "Clutch Energy" and shift times. As older fluids break down, the TCM has to adapt its pressure to compensate for changing friction, which eventually leads to harsh shifts. Triton 668 is designed to keep the friction coefficient stable for much longer. If you’re performing a conversion from a mineral-based TES 389 fluid to Triton 668, remember that a "double-drain" is often required to achieve the full extended-drain interval, as the residual mineral oil will degrade the oxidation resistance of the new synthetic charge.
