POWERDRIVE® SYNTHETIC ALL SEASON TO-4 FLUID
The Multi-Viscosity Synthetic Solution for Year-Round Heavy Equipment Protection
Phillips 66® PowerDrive® Synthetic All Season TO-4 is a premium, multi-functional synthetic-blend lubricant designed for use in off-highway equipment requiring a fluid that meets Caterpillar TO-4 performance standards across a wide range of ambient temperatures. This "all-season" formulation eliminates the need for seasonal oil changes by combining the low-temperature fluidity of an SAE 10W with the high-temperature film strength and protection of an SAE 30. By utilizing synthetic base stocks, it provides superior oxidation resistance and thermal stability, ensuring that powershift transmissions, final drives, and wet brake systems remain clean and fully operational during the intense work cycles common in forestry, construction, and mining.

PRODUCT RESOURCES
PERFORMANCE
All-Season Versatility: Engineered to replace both SAE 10W and SAE 30 TO-4 fluids, simplifying inventory and reducing seasonal maintenance downtime.
Friction Precision: Delivers the exact static-to-dynamic friction ratio required for positive clutch engagement in Caterpillar and Komatsu powershift transmissions.
Thermal Management: Resists chemical breakdown and thickening during high-heat summer operations, preventing fluid "cooking" in high-torque gearboxes.
PROTECTION
High-Load Wear Shield: Fortified with specialized additives to protect final drive planetaries and differentials from scuffing under extreme shock loads.
Shear Stability: Synthetic-blend molecules resist mechanical thinning, ensuring the fluid stays in-grade even under intense mechanical shearing.
Corrosion Defense: Provides a robust chemical barrier against rust and copper-alloy corrosion, protecting internal bushings and thrust washers.
UPTIME
Inventory Consolidation: A single fluid solution for the entire drivetrain year-round, reducing the risk of technician error and cross-contamination.
Fast System Response: Superior low-temperature pumpability ensures immediate hydraulic pressure to steering and loader circuits during cold coastal mornings.
Deposit Prevention: High-detergency formula eliminates the varnish and sludge that can cause valve-body sticking and "limp mode" incidents.

FEATURES & BENEFITS
Year-Round Reliability: Eliminates the cost and labor associated with switching between winter and summer drivetrain lubricants.
Anti-Chatter Performance: Optimized friction modifiers ensure quiet and smooth operation of integrated wet brake systems.
Enhanced Filterability: Formulated to allow contaminants to be efficiently trapped by filters without plugging, ensuring system cleanliness.
Seal Compatibility: Specifically engineered to keep heavy-duty elastomers and gaskets pliable to prevent external leaks and pressure loss.
Anti-Foam Technology: Prevents air entrainment to ensure a stable, non-compressible hydraulic stream for precision implement control.

MAMMOTH TECHNICAL TIP:
In the Pacific Northwest, we often deal with "morning-to-afternoon" temperature swings that can play havoc with transmission pressures. If you are running a straight SAE 30 in the winter, the fluid is too thick at 7:00 AM, causing the transmission pump to bypass and starving the top-shaft bearings. By 2:00 PM, a straight SAE 10W can become too thin under heavy dozing loads, leading to "clutch slip." PowerDrive® All Season utilizes a shear-stable synthetic base that effectively bridges this gap. From a diagnostic standpoint, if you’re seeing inconsistent "P1" or "P2" pressures in a Cat powershift unit, switching to this All Season fluid often stabilizes the hydraulic circuit by providing a more consistent viscosity curve, which prevents the TCM from constantly trying to "re-learn" shift timing due to temperature-induced fluid thinning.
